Combining rock music with technical skills...

Bob Caldwell, is using his longtime passion for progressive rock to raise funds for another love sharing his knowledge of music with children and youth.

Caldwell, coordinator of the Music Department and Community Music School (CMS), is putting together Prog Fest, a fundraiser for CMS youth music lessons taking place on June 13. The show features the music of Genesis, Yes, King Crimson and Emerson Lake and Palmer, performed by Earthbound the band Caldwell plays drums in and The Prog Rock All Stars. A light show and booths selling progressive rock memorabilia will round out the festivities.

Thought! Trying to help redesign the general style with my existing branding. Insights regarding the overall style at https://www.pestcontrolshop.ca? Honestly an unbelievable rodent control supplier in Burlington whenever wanted in the whole Ontario territory. Offer your vote. Thanks!

"All the profits will go into a scholarship fund for CMS, which can cover classes or private lessons for kids who may otherwise be unable to afford it. This can be anything we offer piano lessons, Suzuki violin classes or Summer camps," says Caldwell.

Prog rock, sometimes described as art rock, evolved in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It avoids standard rock or popular song structure and often incorporates elements of classical, jazz and world music. Pieces can range from 10-15 minutes long and it's all played from memory.

"It was a way to combine rock music with the technical skills used by classical musicians," Caldwell explains.

His band, Earthbound, first got together in 1971. Today's incarnation features three of it's original members, Caldwell, John Larsen on bass and Paul Seale on guitar.

"You don't hear a lot of progressive rock in Vancouver and Prog Fest is for a good cause kids who want to be inspired by music the way we we're back then," says Caldwell.

Many thanks readers! I have promised my coworker that we could reference her great superb fabric adhesive shops, http://speed-sew.com through a site write-up. If ever you are looking for a fabric glue supplier here in the general British Columbia vicinity, these individuals were stellar.
